UNC, Duke, NCST, WF, Virginia, Virginia Tech

Notre Dame, BC, Cuse, Pitt, GT, Miami

FSU, Clemson, UofL, ?, ?, ?



If you look at it this way, really, the other 12 schools should have no say as to who is added to the ACC. Everybody already got theirs.

So who would FSU add?

Just curious as to why you think it should be looked at like that?

All of the schools after ND were in the league prior to ND joining. So including ND makes little sense to me since while adding Miami, BC, Pitt, and SU might have been seen favorably by ND as the ACC expanding beyond the South Atlantic region, there were also other compelling factors that resulted in them being taken. The attractiveness to ND was a plus, not THE reason for those expansions. And GT was already part of the ACC when the rest of the expansions (including the addition of FSU) took place.

I'd see it more like this, if I were inclined to do such a set-up:

FSU, Clemson, GT - Miami, Pitt, and Louisville
UVa, UNC, Duke - VT*, BC*, and SU

UNC and Duke get straddled with VT and BC due to their complicity in getting VT and BC by voting down everyone else back in 2003, including Miami.

Wake and NC State I suspect belong more with FSU, Clemson, and GT above, but I keep being told by some they are part of the Tobacco Road crowd, so I set them aside because I simply do not know.

Everything I've read indicates the UNC group wanted to stay together. Once Penn State went to the B1G, the UNC group needed a quality add and also wanted ND. Penn State began play in the B1G about the same time FSU began play in the ACC.
The ACC decided they definitely wanted to be attractive to ND after that.
The UNC "core" added teams to get ND.

I don't know if Clemson chose FSU or FSU chose Clemson but they are peas in a pod.

The ACC picked up GT because they left the SEC. They just so happen to have a history with ND.

The ACC chose FSU to elevate its football. They should let them do that.

If the ACC does expand it should be for football & a network.

I'll take Iowa state, rice and Kansas. Boom.

Nah, not three. Any one of the following is fine with me;

Needs to be three. Who would FSU bring to the ACC in the current climate. Which G5 teams would they choose or which P5 teams would they be able to get?

They have taken the China approach to the problem of college athletics. You can't ignore a 60,000+ enrollment (and still expanding) forever.
