Should be interesting. At least the selection committee members have been associated with NIU football for more than just the last 20 years. They should have some good perspective on the players from the first half of the 50 years.

I would be pretty shocked if Turner, Wolfe, LeShon, Harnish, and Lynch weren't in the top 10. So half of the top 10 would be from the past 20-25 years. Plus outside LeShon that's all within 15 years.

That's a sign of a good thing though that has the program has developed the best players to ever play here have been on campus recently.

In addition to the five you mentioned above, I would round out the top ten with Mark Kellar, Tim Tyrell, Larry English, Jimmy Ward, and Stacey Robinson.

Bork never played at Huskie Stadium, so unfortunately he's not eligible for this list.

And there will be a couple of players who played the same position in the top 10. Lynch, Harnish & Robinson will likely all be up there.

You can pretty much guarantee all the Vern Smith Award winners will be on the full list: Lynch, Harnish, Spann, English, Wolfe, Tyrrell.

All Americans like Johnson, McCarreins, Diem, Turner, Sheldon, Free, Olson, Wedige, and Ward will also likely be a part of the list.

No one has mentioned Chris Finlen yet, so I will.
