NBA draft
Apparently Richaun Holmes has a decent chance to be drafted. The MAC hasn't had a player drafted since 2003, and Richaun Holmes is going to break the streak? That doesn't seem right. He wouldn't even be on a top ten list of best MAC players since 2003. Sometimes I think NBA GMs outsmart themselves.

Nonetheless, I hope he does get drafted. It would be good for the MAC. I also have read that D.J. Cooper will be signing an NBA contract in July.

RE: NBA draft
His stock rose after Portsmouth but he's fallen off several mock lifts. He has NBA body and good athleticism. Skills can be taught. Still, I'll be surprised if his name is called.

Dick Miller and Harvey Knuckles were both second round picks, but we haven't had a NBA draft pick for 15 years (Shaw) or anyone who had any kind of career in the league for over 40 years (Kozelko). For some reason we just haven't been able to get guys in the NBA.

Good for him. He might make it.

I always thought Knuckles could have played in the NBA, but he got drafted by a deep Lakers team and never managed to get a shot anywhere. Great career overseas.

RE: NBA draft
It seems like the top local players end up outside Toledo (Ohio State, Wisconsin, etc.). Our coaching staff and the local community need to emphasize the value of staying here and having a great life in this area after basketball playing days are over. Steve Mix is still in Toledo and Jim Jackson came back after a solid NBA career.

I would think Juice gets at least a tryout with an NBa team and possible roster spot on the summer D-League...

Well, in case you were wondering...this may be the reason why we haven't won a MAC title 35 years and counting. That's just mind-blowing. Even teams like Georgia State get guys drafted in the 1st round, what gives?

States that produce the most NBA players are:
California
NY
Texas
Florida

Rockets recruiting area is Illinois#5, Indiana#7, Ohio#9, Michigan#13.
California turns out 3x more NBA players than any other State.

Seriously? He played for some tiny school in Texas after leaving. Maybe my fave player of the Cross era, mostly due to his monster jam against EMU.

Yep Ian is playing for the London Lions: http://www.london24.com/sport/basketball..._1_3756447

I seem to recall he was born in England maybe, so I think that may have helped him there.

yeah, well, the mac has had more recent prospects. shayne whittington would have been drafted last yr but broke his leg in a pre draft workout. he still made the pacers active roster as a rookie. mccrae from buffalo got a good look from dallas and may still make the league. dj cooper played at a high level in europe and might get a preseason nba camp roster spot.
