RE: Would the ACC ever invite Oklahoma and Oklahoma State?

HOWEVER, if that were to change and somehow we discovered that ND brass placed a value on an ACC FB title -- say because they realize that in order to play in the CFP, they have to be a conference champion -- then the sweet spot, IMHO, is:
6 "ACC" games for ND, as they require two PAC-12 games, Navy, Shamrock Series and "buy games"
The ACC selects the 2 OOC games that 'count' towards ACCCG qualification
ACC logo on the field at ND Stadium, at least for home "ACC" games
Again, my $0.02
NO. If/when they value an ACC conference title for football they can play the full 8-game schedule just like everybody else.

Yeah, OK -- we're not going to have any agreement on this.
The whole motivation behind the ACC's push to deregulate the conference championship rule is likely based on how the ACC and ND can come to an agreement on its participation in the ACCCG.
It doesn't matter if they play a full schedule ( OK it does to you, it doesn't to me), as much as it does increasing the value of the ACCCG.
If ND has a clear semi-unobstructed path to participate in that game, its value goes (likely WAY) up, and sponsors would likely fall over themselves to unseat Dr. Pepper and pony up.
You just won't hear them speak about it publicly if that's the case because of the uproar from the "purists/traditionalists" like yourself.

Most people take this position. It simply would not fly. And it shouldn't.

What I REALLY disagree on is the bolded part - I think the motivation for deregulating the conference championship is to allow teams to skip some teams in their own division in order to play teams in the other division more often - plain and simple.

Then WHY have divisions at all?
It makes little sense.
Cheers,
Neil
EDIT - I also don't think they want a change in the rule to allow ND to play in the ACC championship game either.

Why have divisions? Because it's the only chance the women in the coastal can play in the acc cg. And they refuse to alter the setup because of that.
