If they're there, they count in attendance stats. If they paid to be there, that's revenue. If they paid for beer while they were there, that's still more revenue.
and if they're there, they're likely to become engaged at SOME point... otherwise why go? It all improves the atmosphere and experience for all.
We want them at our game because while they may be OU fans, they can't go to many OU games. They can go to a LOT of ours.

With regards to Hambones post - I agree with the concept of catering to different fans, just dont know if a lucky strike concept would work at Rice games especially given our lousy start times - it's hot and humid. If I was an OU fan, I'd be at a bar with a good cold one and not at HRS.
Not if you lived in west U and had to watch the kids. You might be at home or BWW, but you wouldn't be at a bar....
My point is merely that we can't be everything to everyone and answer every single demographic need... and there is lots about our situation that we can't change... but we can answer FAR more of them than merely trying to get people to watch two teams ranked between #40 and 100

It seems that the University doesn't want that... and it's not a religious or moral issue, more of a safety and security issue... but if they won't go for that, all we have to do is put chairs and a 'shelf' at the concourse rail and some pub tables and some movie theater roping and we can more closely monitor consumption etc. Again, creating the sports-bar experience AT the stadium.
