It looks like Jeremy Cox is a certainty to play this season, and from the looks of things he will quite possibly be an upgrade from Gerard Johnson.

Some have mentioned that DT Miles Fox is a good candidate to see the field this season.

I know that RB Kesean Strong from Maryland had 7 kick returns for TD's in HS. He is very fast and elusive. I think he might be a good candidate to give us a special teams, field position lift this year.

What do you think?

Brickhouse if healthy and Miskel could see the field this season.

I wonder what is Wilder's redshirt philosophy from this point forward? Seems like he tended to RS many during the transition.

You hope to RS all lineman. Their position is the one most heavily (no pun intended) influenced by stature. Speedsters are the ones who may see the field.

exactly. the RS year for almost all DL and OL is crucial to spend on
S & C.

If these two see action, they will make some noise.

I agree that it will be needs based. Miles Fox will have to make a very impressive showing. Otherwise the staff will want him for four years. I think he will be a 3-4 year starter if he redshirts.

The area of greatest need is defensive back. Brickhouse, Carter, Williams and Miskel could all play. My guess is that one of the four will redshirt.

Linebacker and offensive line are the next greatest needs in my opinion. Bernard, O'Neal and Wilder could all play. Since we have quite a few JuCos coming in at linebacker, I would bet only one of the three will play this year.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Devin Hannan play this season. I really liked his highlights. He is athletic and physical. He is the only offensive lineman that I think will play. Sosebee needs to add weight. Barnett may play because of his experience in the Spring.

I feel bad because I haven't been following a lot lately. Been really busy

It looks like Jelani Carter will not be playing for ODU this season. He tweeted tonight that he will not be enrolling until Spring. He did say he is still very commited to ODU, and will be a Monarch.

With an excellent spring showing, Jeremy Cox at RB would seem to be a certainty to play this year, especially with Johnson’s departure.

Also after great springs, Shadow Williams and Richard Thomas at OLB are good bets to see playing time, and Casey Bernard would also seem to have a great opportunity to join them in beefing up our line backing corps.

With our lack of depth at cornerback, it would seem that Jamez Brickhouse is a sure bet to be playing this fall, and I think Kane Miskel at Safety offers coverage ability and versatility that will allow him to see playing time.

When it comes to the big men, I think Miles Fox at DT will have the opportunity despite the fact that our D-line overall is in pretty good shape, and Hunter Sosebee could step up if Bill Dee believes we need his help this year.

So, although it might be a stretch for all of them to get on the field, I believe there are eight solid players who just might get to play on Saturdays this fall, and I think five of them are good bets to be playing.

About Brickhouse. TTBMR He hasn't stepped on campus yet following a season ending knee blow out. I'm going to be a little conservative in my hopes for him this year.

I don't think we'll have the flexibility to RS anyone at CB this year or anytime in the immediate future. Very thin at that corner (ha) of the depth chart. Even if we get 2 CB commits in this small class, we'll be stretched a bit thin for the next few seasons.

Wow. It seems like the roster shrinks more and more every week. Why waste everyone's time if you are not sure about playing for a certain school?
