RE: What will be the biggest 2015 ACC Football surprise?

IMO if VT loses more than 4 games this year, Beamer's done. 8-4 is the minimum.
I think he keeps his job with 6 wins. He'll want to coach in the Tennessee game in Bristol.
I'm not talking about losing his job. I'm talking about changing your beliefs from "This 3-year stretch of mediocrity is just a bump in the road and last year rabble rabble injuries. We will be great again next season" to "Beamer officially has lost 'it', and the VT program won't get 'it' back until we find a new coach."
1. If he loses more than 4 games, it's time to start looking for a replacement - even if it isn't immediate. If he wins 10 or more, perhaps the school can promote from within because...
2. IMO, Beamer needs to retire after 2016 no matter what. I get that he really wants to coach the game at Bristol, so if that makes an old man (and a program legend) happy, it's a small thing...

Don't be surprised if the losses do NOT include Ohio State!
I could also see Notre Dame going down to both Ga Tech AND Clemson... then winning out.
Potential 10-win teams: Clemson, Duke, GT, FSU, UL, UNC, NC State, Pitt, VT
(Duke is probably the weakest of that bunch but the schedule is a cakewalk)
NC State's ability to win 10 depends somewhat on the weather. State does not play well in the cold. The game at VT will be a night in October in Blacksburg - the weather could be changing every 20 minutes, ultimately getting cold. We play at BC in November. That's in addition to having Clemson and FSU on the schedule both of which have more talent than we do at nearly every position.
The advantage that CU and FSU have over everyone else in the league is that they both have more talent than anyone else by a significant margin. While State has a history of stepping up for the "big" game, we also have a history of giving that "surprise" win away with a loss to chump where the team did not start playing until midway through the 4th quarter.
I think State finishes 8-4 with the 4 conference victories being any combination of Wake Forest plus three others instead of Clemson. We don't match up well with Clemson.
State plays Wake in Winston-Salem this year. The Wolfpack do not play well in W-S.

That's for damn sure.
Even when we have more talent it doesn't seem to matter. Your guys are pumped and ours act like they are offended to be there - the next thing you know we are down 10 points late in the third wonder what in the Hell is happening.
We seem to play to the size of the stadium crowd, or at least we have the past 25 or so years.
