They aren't shying away from anybody........
Arizona (neutral),
at Utah (rivalry),
UCLA,
West Va. (neutral),
TOLEDO,
at Michigan State,
MISS ST.,
at Boise, etc...
in that order.
That just screams trap game. Overlook the MAC team to a match up with MSU.
Yep!!!!!!!!!!

RE: UT vs BYU Series
Trap game possibly? Toledo is probably the worst team on that list. BYU wont be 0-8 vs that stretch. Talk about a schedule considering Toledo is a cusp top 50 team (could be) in 2016.... And that's their weakest foe.
BTW: what did thry say on the board about us?

Mixed bag, but most seem to think BYU is still relevant on the national scene. I see this as pretty even matchup.

They scheduled a home and home with NIU as well and their fans were having a hissy fit.

Can't blame them. Two likely losses won't help their large conference resume.

Some of them consider us a 'softy.'
Lets really take it to these guys that are in a similar boat as us (P5 lack of respect) but think they're the all mighty, and blow them out of the waters.

UT may be in the same boat as BYU but if so, they are definitely booked in First Class and UT is a couple of classes below them. BYU has a National Championship on their resume and would probably be in the PAC-10 (or 12 or whatever it is these days) today if consideration was based on football alone.
If UT is able to pull off a win against them I will view it in the exact same light as I would a win over a middle-of-the-pack P5 team. This was a very good team to get a home-and-home with....perhaps not as spectacular as the home and home with Missouri but on par with the home and home with Iowa State IMHO.

Its better than home and home with ISU. Close to Arizona... Not as goood but close on talent alone. Name recognition maybe closer to Cincy. Still siked.

1984-85 National Championship= BYU 12-0 barely beats a 6-5 Michigan in the Holiday Bowl and Washington 11-1 beats #2 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. The Huskies only loss is an away game at #14 USC. And of course a big difference in the SOS.

Yeah and a lot of people, particularly in the South, thought that Alabama was a better team in 1966 than either Michigan State or Notre Dame, but what they thought did not change the outcome of the selection for that year anymore than what you may think will change the outcome of BYU's national championship.
So, like it or not, BYU has a NCAA National Football Championship, an honor that has eluded many P5 schools so far.
