Now that JHU Women's Lacrosse team is also joing B1G is there any benefit / leverage to B1G in upcoming tv contracts? What complicates it for me is the existing contract with ESPN and how all that might work.

Lacrosse really isn't something ESPN shows much of so no, its not a big deal at all in that regard but its a huge deal in terms of what it means for the future of The Big Ten. Lacrosse is a sport of the rich, elite and the powerful. Pulling the number one research school in the country which also happens to be one of the elite Lacrosse programs, both men and women, in the country....well it say a lot about some things that don't get talked about by the media.

It adds content to the Big 10 Network. That is mostly it.

The JHU president once characterized the lacrosse contract has something of a mutually beneficial arrangement rather than a "contract". So I don't think it's a big deal.

I wish I had more than that; just pulling that out of the seldom-used memory cells of my head.

The question is with the clear intent on both sides now expressed to continue deepening the partnership by hosting both of Hopkins' D-1 teams, will Hopkins join the CIC? I think that would be beneficial to both sides as well.
