Birmingham Bowl vote
Vote for funding.

Any word on this vote? Was suppose to be today. I would think it would pass. Makes the bowl look a little shaky though.

I mean if they don't fund it couldn't it become the little rock bowl or even something else. I would be in favor of moving this bowl to little rock. Better stadium, closer to conferences western footprint and keeps SEC tie in. Would be a minor upgrade.

How can Houston and SMU/Dallas not be desirable participants is beyond me... Is clear we have the wrong people negotiating The AAC for this bowl.

They want an all P5 line up. Good luck with that. They might should have come to the bargaining table 2 years ago. The only option I see for them is to reel in the Pac-12 #8 vs an AAC opponent. Maybe in the next cycle they can upgrade to Big-12 vs Pac-12.

The BHam Bowl is toast. It's a matter of time and we've all seen it coming...and no, that doesn't mean that the AAC/SEC tie in will "transfer" to another bowl game. It means the exact opposite. One less P5 opponent for us. BTW, the newly proposed bowl game in Austin will not be an option for the AAC. They've been going out of their way saying who they want....and who they don't. Coog fans on here who read the local papers know what I'm talking about....

Believe it or not, those local papers are available online for people all over the world to read.

And other articles outside Texas have said the same thing: The Austin Bowl is looking for a P5-P5 matchup. Good luck to them.

And regardless, the B'Ham Bowl is going nowhere, b/c the SEC will stick with it in their home town. You Texas guys probably missed the articles on the subject.

All one needs to do is go to the Birmingham City Council site and read the minutes which is what I did yesterday. The answer has been there for nearly a day. Since I believe in teaching one to fish, I will let one of the AAC brethren post the answer and link. 07-coffee3

So they have this on top of voting to send $$ to UAB to pay for their football team? It may come down now to which one would be better for investment. My guess is the bowl vs sending $$$ to UAB football team.

thanks. I like your style. You could of simply gave me the fish, but you wisely chose to teach me how to catch fish on my own so that I know how to catch one on my own. Thank you kind sir. I now have the skills needed to feed my family. Cheers !
