Been a season ticket holder for 20+ years and I don't have a problem with it. Beats the hell out of playing your home games in another state.

Nederlander sat on their ass , and ran the place down. The stench of the place,
the sight lines etc make it a nice place for a tractor pull...

I'm in the NKU camp

Nederlander Ent. = Big 12 Leadership = Former BE leadership

All one in the same. Reactive....not proactive.

Agreed. As I've said before, if Nederlander wants a major tenant, I suggest they apply for a NHL expansion franchise.

Counting on UC to move downtown was idiocy. 01-wingedeagle

Nederlander (and more to the point Hamilton County) wanted UC down there to create a Cincinnati version of the Yum Center. The only problem is nobody wanted to give UC anything remotely close to the sweetheart deal that UofL gets.

Might be the best to view the games, but I wholly disagree about easiest to get in and out of. I drive by it every Friday when picking up my kids and traffic is awful now. Can only imagine if you add all the UC fans coming down to a game.

27 is usually a ghost town by 7pm...NKU's night classes start at 6:30 so there can be a rush at around 6pm during the week. Friday nights can be tough anywhere, though.

In June I went to Anderson HS graduation there where 1000 cars showed up at exactly the same time to park and there were absolutely no issues. The garage is attached to BB&T. Easy in and easy out. Clifton would have been gridlocked for 2 hours had they held it at The Shoe.

RE: Fifth Third Arena Renovation
Even if the board is buying some time, I'm not sure it's related to awaiting a B12 (or other) invitation. There wouldn't be any cash flow from any new conference for several years and that could well be a reduced payout with AAC exit fees factored in. Seems to me, they wanted to showcase where UC is going and buy some time to seek new donor commitments. Much like Nippert Stadium, a new 5th/3rd should be positioned as a revenue enhancement for athletics. If UC is stuck in the G5 for several years, it's going to position the University as the clear leader of the pack. Louisville went about their business doing this and it yielded a positive outcome on many levels.

NKU has a nice arena but there or at Cintas will result in scheduling conflicts that cannot be surmounted. I'm thinking US Bank Arena for men's basketball and The Gardens for other sports like volleyball and women's basketball.

Why can't volleyball and women's basketball use the Armory field house for one season. Both programs draw small crowds. Just asking. I have not been in the Armory in years.

I was honestly hoping to see an Armory renovation as part of the package. It would be a fantastic venue for non-revenue sports and a better winter home for our improving track and field program.

I think we will see a very impressive restoration of the Fieldhouse someday. But Nippert and 5th/3rd were three alarm fires when it comes to needs, both for revenue enhancement and a conference upgrade.

I hope so. It carries so much history for the program and, if we're fortunate to get into a P5 conference, it will be necessary to help house what will likely need to be an additional sport or two.

Armory would need significant improvements to be a viable option for those programs.

I honestly don't see why they couldn't play at Hughes High School or St. Ursula. I'm sure their gyms can hold the crowds that go out to watch those sports.

Why not use Cincinnati State's facility. Very close and seats enough for WBB and Volleyball. A 10 minute bus ride at most.

Either one of those venues have to be better than The Gardens and they are both close to campus. Wonder if the powers that be have considered those options.

I've heard interesting ideas about how to use The Gardens to make the game/games events of sorts. Nothing finalized obviously because they haven't decided on a facility yet but they are tossing around a few things that might make some fans happy if they were to use The Gardens at all in 2016-17.

top 5 things to make the Gardens attractive:
1. Drones guarding the parking lot
2. Halftime shot from mid-court wins season tickets for 2017-18
3. Mt Carmel Amber Ale two-fer
4. Any ACC team on the home schedule
5. Shaving Nancy Zimpher's head at halftime

Please tell. Have not been in there in 25 years. Kinda looks like a Steinbergs or Swallens Superstore.

Hand sanitizer pumps adjacent to each row, and an all-you-can drink buffet to make you forget about any diseases you do catch?
