What will you be using it for?

Wife has been a fan of her Garmin 220. The new 225 takes your hear rate right from your wrist as opposed to having to wear a chest monitor. She's a triathlete though so she's been really wanting to upgrade to the 920XT so that she can track all of her training instead of really just her running.

Might just come down to budget, then. My wife bikes and swims with her 220 ($250+), but it doesn't keep up with actual swim or bike metrics. I don't think you're really supposed to swim with it but it's okay as long as you don't press any buttons while it's submerged.

The 620 basically a touchscreen version of the 220 and costs about $150 more.

The 920XT is $450+ but measures actual bike and swim metrics along with running metrics. Can even estimate V02 Max when used with a hear monitor (no reason why you shouldn't use a heart monitor with any watch). I've talked to people that have these and they love them.

There are obviously other Garmin products but those are the ones that I have personally purchased or talked to people about.

I have a TomTom Runner. I don't want a lot of bells and whistles. It gives me avg pace, distance and time all on the same face (and has other options too) and syncs to mapmyrun (my choice for fitness tracker) via bluetooth on my phone or through computer usb. I can also wear a hr monitor to sync to watch. Very affordable at $99.

Does it have interval alerts?
