Exclamation Sports Illustrated - Memphis Football Preview 2015
Memphis 2015 Football Preview

"If the Memphis Tigers returned as many players on defense as they do on offense, I would be calling for an undefeated season right now and potentially a New Year’s Six berth as the best Group of Five team.

Unfortunately, the defensive losses hurt that significantly. Still, the offense should be even better this year after being a Top 25 offense last year, and the deep rotations used on defense last year should at least keep the unit decent.

As a result, a fall-off should not be expected either, particularly with the schedule."

I think a fair assesment of the team, The only issue I have with the article is that it says that the Ole Miss game is a road game.

Yep. I think it's fair. The D will be better than many are predicting. There is some talent on that side of the ball.

Very fair article, but I think 10 wins is a bit high of a prediction, and I don't think the author realizes we have a CCG starting this season.

Thanks...good stuff.

Love the mipiiii pink pant wearing insecure douche in the comments with the tired half the stadium will be in red paff.

Yes, if Memphis was bad and hosting Alabama. Not with the pink pants son.

Hard to imagine that there won't be some drop off. I tend to think we get 7-8 wins. We won't be surprising anyone this year and the defense needs time to jell. My uneducated opinion as an unabashedly biased homer fan is that we take a slight step back this year but with another year of recruiting we compete at the highest levels in 2016; albeit, with Fuente's continued leadership being the unknown factor.

God Bless Tiger Fans Everywhere!

RE: Sports Illustrated - Memphis Football Preview 2015
Call me crazy, but I am actually more tentative about our offense than our defense. High expectations for our offense, based on last year, and the fact that it has to be proactive in jelling quickly, put more pressure on it right out of the box than our defense. Our defense, led by Reggis Ball, will have the depth and just enough experience and coaching to field a solid effort from the get-go and will only get better as they move through the season.

I expect to win. Fuente has changed the fans expectations. That might have been harder than coaching!

Not exactly. He said it would be fair to think we could go 11-1, but he actually predicted two losses: Ole Miss and Houston.

We owe both of them from last year.
