I don't know the exact number that sold during that time. All I know is that single-game MSU tickets went on sale at 9 A.M. yesterday morning and were sold out by 9:20 A.M.
7K tickets set aside for the WMU student section. 5K tickets set aside for MSU. From what I have heard, WMU has sold over 5K full season tickets and an even higher number of three-game packs (though I don't know the exact number).
As Todd pointed out, at this point, unless you purchase a full season ticket, your only real option is Stubhub, where the asking price currently starts at $130.
I think I might be able to explain why the game sold out in 20 minutes (using the information above).
There were only 13K tixs left to be sold in partials and individually.
So maybe the number of singles could have been say 5, 6 or 7K, not a great number for a marque, highly desirable, once in a generation game.
As the 'best' part is that those who bought season or partial plans got the best locations. It is a good thing when one has to buy a season tix to get a good location for a MAC FB home game. :)

This is making more and more sense even though the article is now almost 4 weeks old.
The big kicker is that season ticket buyers (4,500 season tickets at the time of this article) can buy extra tickets which will really eat into the number of tickets left for individual game purchasers.
The big number is that 12K are taken out of the pool from the get go: 7K for WMU students and 5K for MSU. That leaves 18K+ for season ticket plans, mini-plans, and individual sales.
I've already posted it but you guys looked strong last night. Our coaches are focused on WVA right now but will need to game plan perfectly next week if we're gonna win next Saturday.

It should be a great game. Hopefully Franklin will be okay (possible concussion from what I read) and cleared to play.
Good job to WMU. It was good to see them not get embarrassed by a top 5 team. And CMU did not get embarrassed either......hopefully the other MAC schools can show out.
Great job by WMU. I am in Vegas and watched most of the game in the Sports Book at the Rio. A few UM fans were in there cheering for MSU. I thought they would be pulling for WMU, what gives?
