McIntosh Transfers to SIU
Hope he gets the chance to start this fall. Think he would have been a player if he didn't get hurt last year.

I wish him nothing but the best.

For some reason I am happy knowing he didn't go to IL St too.

I don't blame him. Hopefully this means Hare is doing so well that McIntosh thought there was no way he would see the field. It would have been nice to have him as the 2 or 4 QB just in case.

I'd prefer Mcintosh filling in for Hare over Maddie if it ever came to that.

This is what happens when you don't do your job. Glad he's getting a second shot though.

What are you talking about? He played in one game and was the best QB. So tell me, how did he not do his job?

RE: McIntosh Transfers to SIU
Being an alum, I follow SIU athletics (football and basketball and to a lesser extent baseball). His older brother was our QB for a few years after transferring in from Army and was decent. I don't think Mac will win the job right off the bat due to the fact that we have an established starter already. He's actually pretty damn similar to Mac. Mark Ianotti transferred to SIU from a MAC school (EMU) and started almost every game last season. After seeing both live, they have very similar styles. Both good athletes but not great passers. Ianotti held off two redshirt freshmen in the Spring to be named the starter going into Fall camp. We are transitioning to an up-tempo offense this year, which Mac is obviously used to. Just going by the fact that Ianotti has been with the team for a while now and has already started a bunch of games, I would say he will line up under center to start the season. However, Ianotti also lost his job for a few games last season to try and spark the offense, so I could also see something similar happening again this year if he struggles.

I was always a mcintosh fan. I still think he was one of the best qb's that didn't win the starting job in a long time.

Anyhow, does anyone know if he graduated? I hope he got his degree since he spent four years here. Thanks for your hard work Mac!

Why does it matter if he graduated? If he didn't he will from SIU. He is eligible to play right away, so I don't see why any one cares.

If he graduated, then it means the biggest reason for him to stay for his last year of eligibility is gone.

Probably not gonna see the field + undergrad degree already obtained = not a whole lot of reason to remain where you are if you have a desire to play.

What are you talking about? The guy lost his job to injury.. and still went out there and played special teams instead of sulking the season away or quitting then.

I can't imagine there are a lot of QB's willing to do that to get back on the field. I would think he did more than his job. Good for him he's getting another chance somewhere else.
