Good stuff. Now all they need to do is have the Ravens Stadium be the permanent home for both the men's and women's tournament. I'm not going to say that it will sell out but with UMD, Hopkins, PSU and Rutgers all within a 3-4 hour drive the crowd should be good annually.

RE: Hopkins Womens Lax joins Big Ten
With the JHU women's lax now joining it brings up a few interesting questions (fun to think about but it is to early to answer).

"We have agreed to an initial membership term of five years and to re-examining the relationship after three years to determine if it should be extended. Our NCAA Division I women's lacrosse program will continue play as part of the American Lacrosse Conference next year before moving to independent status in 2015. And, as always, we remain proudly and deeply committed to NCAA Division III status in all other varsity intercollegiate athletics." - Johns Hopkins University president Ronald J. Daniels

What does it mean that the women were independent for 1 year? Was this the plan all along? Was the mens team making the tournament essentially due to their play in the conference tournament a deciding factor? Did Hopkins decide after 1 year this is a great place for them to be? If Hopkins does make the B1G their conference home do they also join the CIC (finally)? With the way lax has ben growing, who else, mens or women may start up a team?

I'm not so sure about this. The location isn't bad but the size of it…it would DWARF the crowd. Need a decent sized stadium (MLS sized?). Start out with it in MD/DC or maybe even Philly. Hell, could do NYC but think that is a bit of a stretch. Have it in one of those places or rotate for the first 5 years or so. If/when more B1G teams add lax, look at more place particularly west. You would probably have to inch west and not go leaps and bound. Maybe look at Pittsburg or Columbus (not to give OSU an advantage or anything). Keep up with the shifting dynamics of the growth of the game.

I'm born and raised in Ohio and am adamantly opposed to moving the conference tournament west. What you want for a tourney is environment. With 4 school extremely close you're guaranteed a decent turnout annually. Much of the Midwest is clueless about lacrosse and in the east they've got 100+ years worth of passion and education about the game. Baltimore can be to B1G Lacrosse what Manhattan is/was to the Big East tournament. I dont care that it gives the Terps and Jays an advantage... im interested in #1 Butts in seats, #2 exciting environment, #3 creation of a name brand affiliation with B1G lacrosse such as: Pasadena (Rose), Omaha (CWS), Madison Square Garden, etc. I would love to see Baltimore become a goal of B1G teams (sans the riots).

I'd be OK with lax always or normally in the east, although having Northwestern host for women's isn't bad either.

Other sports:
Hockey should probably always be a bit more northern too. Maybe a bone once and awhile to Ohio State or Penn State, but the sport is much bigger further north and they should have it most/all.

Baseball should continue to move about, but Nebraska makes sense to host more often. The College World Series is there and we should definitely use whatever advantages we can in a sport northern schools are at a disadvantage in.

I had been awaiting this announcement about JHU Women joining B1G. I had actually started searching daily about a month ago. I just felt like it was easy to see the overall success (attention and notoriety) the men were having within the conference. I really think it has surprised some how well B1G has supported LAX as newest conference sport.

Can't wait until Sparty gets back in the game! I actually enjoyed watching our team back in the day on campus. Just a matter I time until we're back!
