How many here attended?
Well I got you to look. To finish the sentence, "attended the Grand Rapids Golf Outing on Monday at Egypt Valley Country Club.

I'm curious as to whether any of the forum readers are golfers that have attended this event. I know of a couple that do (Stampede), but my curiosity to the rest of you pique's my interest. Is it because you are not golfers? Is it because you live too far away (Boston Bronco, I understand), is because you did not enjoy yourselves?

I'd like to get some honest feedback.

Always proud to be a Bronco, RTB.

Not a golfer. My hobbies are Football, walking, reading, and chasing the wife around the couch once in awhile.

My summer schedule is very tight. Any spare time, I'm into collectible cars, lawn and garden stuff, and sitting in my zero gravity chair. Haven't golfed in years.

Nope, but 5 hours is a long way to drive for a golf outing. That and I haven't swung a golf club in probably 15 years.

If I'm ever in Michigan when you have it, I will surely enter. If I drove to the event from Texas, would you give me an award for "the Longest Drive"?

That's called the "Marco Polo Award."

RE: How many here attended?
Texasbronco, if you drove that far and let us know of course you would get an award, or at least introduce to the audience.

I understand that many people have conflicting situations, and other interest. I'm just as curious to how many here knew that we were having our outing on Monday, that would be the 52nd annual outing in Grand Rapids.

Thank you for giving me this feedback. Our committee will use this in a way to make the outing better yet next year.

Always proud to be a Bronco, RTB.

I'm a golfer and a WMU alum, originally from the GR area, but never heard a thing about this.

Ironically, I'm taking the day off and hitting up the golf course with my dad for Father's Day on Monday. Otherwise I might have gone if I had known about it earlier.

RE: How many here attended?
Over 7,000 emails were sent out, it was posted on the "MYWMU" website, and the "WMUBRONCOS" athletic site, and around 1,000 flyers were sent to those that attended previous outings. I'm not sure how much more the committee can do. One of our committee members posted it on facebook, so if you were a friend of "Buster Bronco" you could have received it. What more can the committee do?

Of course we could not have entertained more than 30 more golfers since 310 were signed up and played.

Always proud to be a Bronco, RTB.

Next year post the date and details here at least 35 days before the event and I will try to make it. Egypt Valley is a first class track.

Haven't golfed in 10 years. And I had no idea the outing was even happening.

You guys worked so hard, congratulations on the turnout and fine results of the event. As far as doing more, I guess you could post a reminder on Stampede. Lots of visitors read Stampede even if they don't post. You might get a few more attendees by doing that. Thanks again for all you do.

Acer, I didn't criticize anything your committee did.

You originally posed the question if any of us attended the event... and if not, why haven't we?

I simply answered your question.

RE: How many here attended?
I know that we do not reach all WMU grads, HJ, so I more interested in how we can reach more. I'm not unhappy with the turnout that we get, but I would like to see us "Max out" once in my lifetime, and believe me my time is running out. DE, thanks for the good comments, and I'm sorry if I did not say hi during the day.

Our committee hopes that everyone goes away feeling like that it was well worth the time and enjoyed it enough to want to return. I did not post it here this year, but that was a decision I made. I wished I could have heard all of P.J.'s comments but he did get the crowd going before we enjoyed dinner.

Always proud to be a Bronco, RTB.

I'm still doing PT to recover from my stroke. I can do mini golf but a full swing is a ways off.

I don't get your BACKHANDED attempt at belittling those here who didn't attend, and after the event no less.

If you wanted them to attend you could have posted it here weeks ago.

Just curious, what motivated you to exclude people here? These people are diehard Broncos.
