Glad to see the Sox trying to cross promote themselves with NIU. Their marketing/promotional dept will have to work overtime to get fans to the park to watch the level of play this team is putting on and miraculously fans are showing up

Through last nights' game the Sox are 1078 per game ahead of last year Cubs are up 716 per game. Amazing since there were short lots of Outfield bleacher seats early in the year and the weather has been nasty with well above average rainfall.

I would guess the Sox front office was counting on a HECK of a lot more than a 1000 per game increase with what they considered an aggressive off-season. Unless the Sox pull some miraculous turn around to get back into wild card contention (I know, highly highly unlikely), the days of the old Williams/Hahn "all-in" going for it philosophy might be history. I have a feeling the Sox will head toward a Cub-like 5 year rebuild soon if this year does not turn around amazingly.
