The AD stated at one of our functions that she wanted to see how the ticket demand was this year before deciding on expansion. I would be surprised if Duke agreed to play on campus if there wasn't some sort of assurance about a larger seating capacity by the time this game is played.
I am excited about this, getting one for ones with ACC schools is big for us, hopefully this is the first of many.
Sounds similar to the deal Virginia Tech has with ODU, where all but one of the Norfolk games in the series hinge on a new stadium being open. Except you've already got the blueprint for expansion and don't have to do feasibility studies on multiple sites. Now see if you can swing a Duke H'nH for basketball
Duke and the Tarholes don't have to play us in Charlotte when they have their old pals Davidson willing to take a beating in the Cable Box. Anyway, last time we played dem 'eels in Charlotte we took them to OT, they can't let that happen again.
Good "get" on the FB game. However, you will have a bigger crowd when Appy comes to town, maybe even ECU will provide more too. Duke just doesn't travel well for FB. Maybe, if they get on a roll like they had two years ago then they'll show up.
Regarding your comment on MBB, while I do agree with you on Duke and Chapel Hill being a little apprehensive, however, neither did UVA need to come to JMU for a home-and-home, but they did. Being only an hour away, it was practically a home game for them. UNCC has something to offer Duke and Chapel Hill, Charlotte is a heavy recruiting ground and heavy on alumni, especially Chapel Hill. As long as they feel they have a superior team when they sign the contract, then getting either to Charlotte is possible.

In basketball they don't have to play us, they can play Davidson at Time Warner Cable Arena and achieve the same effect, and they do.

We have never played the Heels in Charlotte. We played in Connecticut NCAA tourney game in 98 and regular season December 98 in Chapel Hill. Both games went to OT.

Yes.
Very Impressive. If I'm not mistaken, it took MT about 7+ years at the FBS level before any University now in P-5 would play us at home.
Go 49ers! Fast Track!
