C-USA TV CONTRACT QUESTION
Will having home football games with P5 opponents raise or maintain the contract bid? A FEW future examples-WKU hosts Vandy,UTEP hosts Texas Tech,ODU hosts Virginia Tech and several others.
On the surface it would seem these games are a value to FOX or whoever.I am assuming the home team or conference holds these TV rights?
Add in a few home basketball games against "big name" schools and the monetary value would seem to be pretty good.
Am I missing something?Would like to hear comments from any knowledgeable posters.

Yes and no. They are one offs. The value derives from the cumulative effect on the package or eyeballs you can deliver for them.
Having one, two or even three games isn't really going to drive the value much when you consider that represents a small percentage on the number of games being broadcast.

RE: C-USA TV CONTRACT QUESTION
I realize the games with P5 are only a percentage.Didn't go thru all the future FBS schedules. There are more games like this coming than most realize.IMO these games add value to the contract-how much is debatable.

We're hosting NC State on ASN this year so I don't know if they care that much (CBS wanted the game only if it was moved to Friday night)

RE: C-USA TV CONTRACT QUESTION
These are the P5 teams that C-USA schools will host from 2016-2020:
Charlotte: Nobody
FIU: Maryland, Indiana (x2), Miami
FAU: Nobody
LA Tech: Mississippi State
Marshall: Louisville, NC State, Pittsburgh
MTSU: Vanderbilt, Duke
North Texas: Nobody
Old Dominion: Virginia Tech, Wake Forest
Rice: Stanford, Baylor, Texas A&M, Wake Forest (?)
Southern Miss: Kentucky
UTEP: Arizona, Texas Tech
UTSA: Arizona State, Baylor
WKU: Vanderbilt
UAB: Nobody
That's 20 games, so 4 per year on the TV contract. Hardly enough to make a difference, especially when many of these schools are lower-tier P5.
