Absolutely no excuse for anyone of us not to take advantage of this, as the challenge includes a gift of ANY size (meaning as little as $5 - $10) to ANYWHERE at Rice (meaning not only the Annual Fund, but also the Owl Club or any of the SIDs)....

So you all know, the owl club has its own 'tab'

I'm in tomorrow as well with a gift to the owl club to kill two birds with one stone.

Although previously having made gifts to Owl Club and Annual Fund this FY, I went ahead and signed my wife and my daughter for a hunnert bucks apiece today, to the Owl Club.

Now what I understand is that this will add two to the list of Owl Club Members and two to today's countdown to 2,400. But it won't do anything to enhance our alumni giving percentage f/p/o U S News rankings or anything of the sort.

But...as we really need to hike up our Owl Club membership count, am planning on doing this every year from now on....provided it "works".....did I understand correctly?

Done! I saw that 157 number, too. Thought it was awfully low. Hope alums around the world mobilize and participate/contribute ... at least a little!

(Maybe the counter/display doesn't update instantaneously, in which case maybe a software/coder-alum could contribute a little in-kind effort to fix that.)

The 157 count was as of 9:00am this morning. I'd be real disappointed if we're not at least half way home by early this afternoon.

??? Are you trying to tell us you cannot afford just $5 or $10 to give today? That little gift would go against the participation rate and would mean much more than the size of the gift.

I believe participation of alumni is the only thing that counts today. And isn't Afflicted not an alumni?
