USF 2015-16 CoA: $4,500
http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/usfs...id/2238891
Days before the dawn of August, USF already has set itself in a position to be a stern league competitor this school year in each of its full-scholarship sports.
At least in terms of cost of attendance.
School officials, including athletic director Mark Harlan, have confirmed student-athletes in the Bulls' full-scholarship sports (football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, women's golf) will receive between $4,100 and $4,500 to cover cost of attendance (COA) in the 2015-16 academic year.
Based on published reports and data provided by other schools, USF's amount appears to be among the more generous in the American Athletic Conference.

It's going to be interesting to see how other schools in the state of Florida calculate COA. Based on demographics and cost of living UCF, UM and USF should be significantly higher COAs when compared to the small towns of Gainesville and Tallahassee.
Still not sure how Cincy came up with a $7,500 COA...

How long is this going to fly when they are picking certain sports to offer COA? I bet they will force any payments to be distributed across all student athletes.

All USF sports are getting COA. Those on partial scholarships in lesser sports will be prorated. This is further down in article if you open link.
"Student-athletes in USF's partial-scholarship sports will receive lesser COA amounts based on factors such as the number of participants and available scholarships in those respective sports."

Financial Aid office. Athletics (supposedly) has nothing to do with figuring out the numbers.

Wouldn't a private school have higher numbers?

SMU is only around $2,700. However, the athletes get $1,700 a month to live off campus so many players live together for extra money.

RE: USF 2015-16 CoA: $4,500
the coa arms race is on, bama already raised theirs in one year.
http://www.dothaneagle.com/sports/alabam...757ff.html
The difference between an average scholarship and the actual cost of attendance at Alabama is $5,386 for out-of-state and $4,172 for in-state players, according to CBSSports.com. That is significant because starting this fall, athletes will be given that difference, spread between two semesters.
By comparison, in Alabama’s 2013-14 NCAA financial report, the university listed the gap between its average scholarship and the full cost of attendance at $4,018 for out-of-state students and $3,664 for in-state students
what a farce

Federal guidelines are used to determine how much it costs to attend a university for financial aid packages. Athletics is supposed to have nothing to do with it.

Well, according to those pages it costs about the same for a Florida resident to go to UCF or South Florida so I'd hope we have something similar to USF's $4500 CoA payments.

You're correct, I was looking at the summer session for UCF.

I'm looking forward to Federal auditors slapping the **** out of some of these schools (Auburn and Alabama come to mind) that are obviously inflating numbers. The fines will be probably just amount to change in the couch for the rich P5 schools though.

O'Leary said in an interview today, "it'll be around $5,000 a year" for UCF. That is much higher than I thought it was going to be. I thought initial estimates were that it was going to be around $3500. Nice to see us staying competitive.

Looks like Cincinnati, Memphis, USF and UCF will have the highest COA in the conf. You can add in ECU also as there's is a little over 4K.
