Does Putin want war?
Yet another Russian military aircraft incident this one buzzing a group of 4 NATO ships in the Baltic. One from US, Great Britian, France and Germany.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/13/politics/n...index.html

Not sure what Putin or Russia has to gain by these actions but it certainly seems each incident is more ages since than the last. If thi continues some sort of incident is bound to occur.

He's pushing the envelope as far as we'll allow him.

RE: Does Putin want war?
He doesnt want war with us or Nato, as most of his equipment would break down. He needs to keep it very regional.

However, since Obama has no spine, Putin really doesnt have much to fear at the moment. The moment it looks like a cowboy is heading for the Whitehouse is the moment he tries to negotiate everything he can from Obama and stops the nonsense.

Anyone remember how Cheney handled the Chinese? Thats how you handle shitheads.

U.S. will be prepositioning tanks, artillery and infantry fighting vehicles in the Baltics.

This isn't enough. You need troops deployed there on a constant basis to prevent a Russian invasion. If the Russians were to invade we wouldn't have enough time to fly in U.S. forces to the equipment depots, unless we went back to Germany or bases in Poland.

I expect the "Russian Minority" in Estonia to manufacture an incident. Putin will invade if he thinks he can get away with it. If Obama is distracted by the Chinese in the South China Sea he'll make a move.

Then maybe NATO Europe should get off their collective duffs and muster a credible enough defense to make Putin think twice about messing with the Baltic Countries

Does anyone really believe the U.S. would go to war with Russia over the Baltics? Or that we would go to war with China over Taiwan?

I don't think so. I think we'd collapse like a cheap lawn chair.

No. I have zero support for intervention in that region. Putin knows we are not going to do anything. I doubt he would do anything if we decided to move on Cuba but complain. Both Russia and the US have no compulsion to engage each other directly.

Both Russia and China realize the exact same thing; hence why we see Russia buzzing planes and in Crimea and China claiming sovereignty over those islands, etc.

I know how to solve the South China Sea problem. It's just a matter of time a Nasty South China Sea Typhoon comes in and turns those "islands" back into the reefs they actually are.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the next Foreign Aid Package includes a few million for the Phillipines to make infrastructure improvements for Subic Bay.

Am I the only one that finds what Putin is doing entertaining? He country is having all kinds of economic problems and he is pushing a military agenda?....Really? It looks to me as if he damaging his country more than he is helping it with this mess. I say let him hang himself. I see nothing positive coming out of this for the Russian people.

See Argentina 1982. Putin controls the Media. Putin can start a War and blame the West and the Russian people will fall for it.

They really do. It's amazing seeing the public polling on his actions. They buy what he's selling hook, line, and sinker.
