O/T Sad News
I don't know if anyone on here knew him or not, but 2013 grad Alex Moore died last Sunday morning as a result of a tragic car accident. His funeral was today. Alex lived in Mechanicsville (near Richmond for those who don't know). Great kid and wonderful family. Lot's of JMU recent grads at the service today. Alex had an uncle who I believe spent time as the Duke Dog several years ago.

I knew Alex well during undergrad as many of my roommates/friends were Mechanicsville/Hanover natives. I spent many good times with Alex and it was very shocking, and saddening, to hear of the news the other day. It comes as no surprise to me that many JMU Alum were there as he was a great guy who was well liked by everyone.

As a frequenter of this forum I'd like to extend my condolences. May those who knew and loved him be comforted, and may he rest in peace.

I taught him in Sunday School when he was in 7th grade. Awesome kid. The stories that were shared by his parents, friends and Academy chaplain were awesome. May I suggest that when you hear "Wagon Wheel" or "Chicken Fried", you might might smile and toast Alex.
