Former Zips AD Mike Thomas on hot seat at Illinois. Illinois has player lawsuits with allegations that programs force play with injuries, allegations of coach abuse across several programs, major donors going public that they won't write checks until Thomas is gone. It's a real mess.

Thomas may be available for his old job soon.

I was hoping that Hunter Yurachek would be available, but Houston scooped him up a few months ago.

With what allegedly has taken place at Illinois, would you want him back at Akron

This is the guy who came in at the opening of the new stadium and hired his bud Rob Ianello as Akron football HC who then....you know the rest. His contract was up later this year and apparently wasn't going to be renewed so he found an internet sports job in Texas. President Scarborough is all about improving UA's finances so it will be interesting to see if they hire another traditional AD or apply some budget creativity to the situation.

Watch out MAC olympic sport families, the purge is on. Dropping baseball at Akron was only the beginning.
