Political Donation Comparisons
I found this list pretty interesting so I did some quick number crunching.

https://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.php

In summary this is a list of the top 100 donors to political parties. Not surprising that the unions heavily favor liberals. Overall the totals were $2.27B to Dems / Libs (includes unions) vs $1.23B to Reps / Cons.

To simplify things a little bit I've broken the data down into 3 groups - corporations, lobbyists / PACS and corporations. The corporation numbers aren't nearly as far off as I thought they'd be. I've included associations such as the American Realtors association in with lobbyists. I could break it up separately but the numbers are pretty similar

And those evil Koch brothers are dwarfed by the Liberal's biggest 3 corporate contributors.

#5 on the list overall, Fahr, LLC donated $75M plus with 100% of it going to D's.
#19 - Soros Fund Management donated $44M with 100% going to Dem / Libs.
#25 - Newsweb donated $40M with 99% of it going to Dem / Libs.
#48 - Koch Industries donated $28M with 94% going to Rep / Conservatives.

Now for the biggest wtf of all to me.

Blunder, you are showing contributions to political parties. The landscape has changed considerably in recent years. The Koch Brothers don't concentrate their efforts in the traditional party system. In fact they bypass it. They establish, finance and fund raise through their network of organizations such as Americans for Prosperity, the Cato Institute and countless others.

"Hundreds of conservative donors recruited by the Kochs gathered over the weekend for three days of issue seminars, strategy sessions and mingling with rising elected officials. These donors represent the largest concentration of political money outside the party establishment, one that has achieved enormous power in Republican circles in recent years.

"Now the Kochs’ network will embark on its largest drive ever to influence legislation and campaigns across the country, leveraging Republican control of Congress and the party’s dominance of state capitols to push for deregulation, tax cuts and smaller government. In 2012, the Kochs’ network spent just under $400 million, an astonishing sum at the time. The $889 million spending goal for 2016 would put it on track to spend nearly as much as the campaigns of each party’s presidential nominee."

lol.

Cute.

So now, anyone that has a cocktail and mingles/rubs elbows for a weekend with the KOCH BROTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is part of their "network" and to be lumped in with anything they do. Is that about right? You know how ridiculous that is? This is now a "network".

Ooooooo, scary.

Uh no. They are still individual donors and seminar attendees. Are all the Hollyweird donors a part of the "Clooney network" or something?

Also, how about posting a link to the source for this silliness? That would probably be interesting to see which Media Mush member wrote this hysterical piece.

RE: Political Donation Comparisons
Exactly JMU. Like George Soros, Tom Steyer and the other big liberal donors don't have their "networks" too.

You can't possibly be that naive, can you? There isn't anything hysterical about it. It is just the way big money works in the election process in this day and time. This was the Koch's donor retreat. The donors are contributing to the Koch organizations, not individual contributions to individual candidates. The $899 billion is the goal they have set. If George Clooney creates one or more political organizations to promote his interests, sets a goal for funding and starts fund raising to finance his organizations efforts then it would be the same thing.

As far as those "media mush" members we can start with that liberal propaganda machine breitbart! 07-coffee3
