Agree 99%. The racial element is likely unnecessary... so the MINOR problem I have with both comments is the implication that race had anything to do with their rudeness. I think it shows more about the poster than about the rude people.

I do too... but certain infractions effectively if not actually require it because the retractions always carry far less weight than the statements themselves. We're not talking about a zero tolerance policy about knives and suspending a child for bringing a rounded plastic knife to spread his PBJ with.... but about a 'business' that could potentially lose lots of 'customers' as a result of the comments.

Teenagers: The absolute worst. No manners and they're paying with parents' cash and pocket what is left over after the meal.

Old folks: Easy tables, but low tippers.

On the black people not tipping me thing, I always made sure to give everyone the same service because you never know. I filled up a gentleman's glass of tea at another table a couple times because his server was ignoring him. He gave me a 50 on the way out.
That was pretty cool. lol

And yeah, I always knew i was getting a solid tip when it was a table of gay guys. lol

FWIW next time you go on vacation to a resort you will probably have 1 lady who cleans your room. Take a bottle of perfume for this lady and give it to her. You will have extra towels, shampoo, lotion, coffee, etc., without have to ask, and she probably won't steal anything, especially in a poorer country.

Walked into a crowded bar restaurant, no reservation, server asked some people if he could take their end table that was not being used, brought it over for me and GF right under the AC vent. Said you look thirsty what do you need, in a span of 1 minute. I tipped him price equal to the final food beverage tab. Dude was a pro.

oh yeah. if a place is busy, I always make sure to let the server know I'm not going to rush them and expect everything instantly. It definitely helps put their nerves at ease, and they usually always end up giving you quick service anyways, just because you aren't a dick.

If you can't afford to tip, then you can't afford to go out and eat. Keep your raggedy ass at home.

The next Day He was fired because They, or One of the Black guys said the Bartender was Racist for using "What Up ?" and Calling the White Business Guy "Sir". Simple things can put You out. Luckly He got reinstated on the Job but The Black Guys involved never came back.

yeah. that's retarded. I would address people differently, but it was mostly based on what they were wearing and how they acted when they came in. shorts and tshirts typically got you a "what's up". Suit and business a tire "how are you sir?"

I raised my children to always leave a nice tip. If service was bad, still leave a tip, but not as generous. When one of my children got a job in college waiting tables, I got a text thanking me for teaching my kids to always tip and how it is obvious not all parents teach that trait. I have always heard that anyone that was a former service person who depended on tips for their income are some of the best tippers.

no doubt. if it ever came up in a convo with someone that they served or used to serve, I always knew a tip of higher than 20% was coming.

Everyone should have to wait tables or bartend at some time in their life so they understand exactly how hard the job is and that sometimes when the order is wrong or slow it isn't the servers fault.

I waited tables at a family restaurant in college. It is hard work when it is busy. I busted my butt to provide great service. Some people appreciate it and tip well and some are just cheap.

Young professionals are the most demanding and worst tippers. I'm guessing they didn't wait tables in college because the rents paid their way. If they have children their children in general are very ill behaved.

What is up with people letting their kids run around a restaurant and climb on booths? I have seen this more and more...children need to learn to sit and wait for the food and then eat. Simple distractions like crayons/paper and goldfish or cheerios should work until the food comes IF you have bothered to work on manners and behavior.

I guess it is just another example of indulgent parenting and special snowflake syndrome.

I consider what she said a little racist. I worked at a gas station at one point, and I would have referred to someone as rude, not "rude black person" or "rude white person". Not a huge deal to me - however, in these days comments like that on the internet can be seen by way more people, so businesses have to protect themselves a little more.

I had one retail-type job, at a gas station working the register, and also running the car wash where we got some tips, but nothing like a server at a bar/restaurant. Mostly I got tips from people with average cars. The beaters, no, and people driving expensive cars didn't tip as much either.

Working as cashier, the worst people were the middle-aged guys dressed in suits driving a luxury sedan. A high population of jerks among that crowd. There weren't a lot of blacks in the area so I really can't compare.

As a customer though, I think the service at bars is generally poor. You have 1 or 2 good waitresses and that's about it. I used to go to one bar by me and there was one waitress that was basically perfect. I tip okay, usually the 20% rounded up to the next dollar (even though I despise the whole concept of tipping) - in retrospect had I known how rare that was I would have tipped her more. Many places it's like they don't want me to order anything.

She should be fired!
