It's far less interesting, as neither school has tried to annihilate the other's athletic program. THAT is s storyline.

Anyway, *the* heart of the BIG EAST was Syracuse. Everyone else was just taking up space. When we left, the conference died.

UConn - Nova would get better ratings than UConn - BC, because Nova is a bigger basketball name than BC. It's that simple.

And in your second to last sentence, you misspelled "Georgetown". 07-coffee3

I get Nova is better, but stories sell. Two teams that have each tried to destroy the other meeting in a game that was sworn to never happen on the world's biggest stage is one h*ll of a story.

Two good teams meeting on the world's biggest stage is a good story.

That's the difference. UConn v. 'Nova is just another game. UConn v. BC is a grudge match. Going purely by who is a better program, SU v. UNC would be better than Georgetown, but I think everyone would agree with me that SU v. GU is a much more compelling game.

UConn has actually played both BC and Villanova once since the Big East implosion - UConn squeaked out a win vs. BC and beat 'Nova in the tournament in a strange but interesting game... I'd rather see Villanova because they have been a top 10 program the last couple of years. BC is not good. The off the court rivalry doesn't help the RPI.

submitted too quickly... Boston College was 166 in RPI last year... ahead of them were Charleston Southern and Norfolk State. There were 5 teams in the AAC lower than Boston College, including one UConn lost to (Houston). UConn's third worst loss was to Yale (64) and second worst losses were to Memphis (83)... so there would have been no value for UConn in playing BC. Villanova was #2 in RPI at the end of the regular season. "Body of work".

As a BC alum/fan, I actually AGREE with you. I feel the same way about football. I don't want to see BC play Uconn in FB for the same reason. Uconn FB is "not good". Besides the usual FCS game that all FBS teams play, having a game with Uconn does nothing for BC's strength of schedule.

See how that works.

It will work better for you because Villanova is playing UConn in football this year and (much like they almost did vs. Syracuse) they could easily win.
