San Francisco's Chris Heston (from ECU - did we ever face him) pitched a no-hitter in a game where he didn't get higher than 91 on the radar gun. Heston is a cool story you feel good about - a 27-year-old rookie who was a 12th round pick out of ECU a few years ago. Nice to see someone like that do great in the era of the radar gun nazis.

It looks like the only time we faced Heston was on April 10, 2009. We got 8 hits and 7 earned runs off him in 5-1/3 innings en route to a 15-11 win over the Pirates in Greenville.

In his series preview, Walt said "JUCO transfer Chris Heston is their Friday starter and has been their most consistent weekend guy, ..."

Heston was drafted in the 12th round of the 2009 draft.

(Heston transferred to ECU from Seminole CC in 2008. He was probably not on the 2008 ECU roster, however, as he did not pitch in any of our 4 meetings with the Pirates that year: a 3-game sweep at Reckling in April and a 4-3 elimination game loss in the C-USA tourney.)
