Len Mattiace doesn't make field for FESJC -- nobody even cares
This would make a great book or article

A man who lost in a playoffs in the Masters in 2003(?) tries to qualify for the FESJC at Wyndyke but comes up way short.

If you would have told Len 12 years ago, that he would have to try and Monday qualify for the FESJC in 2015, I wonder what he would think.

Hopefully, his non-golfing life has gone well.

A neighbor of mine was participating in the Web.com tour in the Dallas area (Castle Hills) over the weekend. Another neighbor and I went out for a short time on Sunday to watch him.

You see names like Jason Gore, Chad Campbell, guys who have been regular names in the money for years drop back down to these sub tours trying to get back on the pga tour.

Golf is an incredible game where 20+ guys can play over four days within a just few strokes of one another.

12 years is a long time. Apparently he had a skiing accident in 2003 and tore both acls. He hasn't been fully exempt on the tour since 2005.

A quick google search found an article you might find interesting.

They should have gave him an exemption being a past champ. They gave a kid that's never won anything one and he didn't even break 80

Professional golf is the most independent and self reliant of all of the professional sports, particularly the PGA Tour. Many of a golfer has been on top of the world only to find that they have little or no status within a few years. I saw Mike Weir today and struggles to get into events and make cuts and he is a former Masters Champ. The line is very thin
