Women World Cup
If you had told me going into this game that we would be lucky to be tied at half time with Australia i would say you are losing it. But we are very very lucky to be tied right now. Being outplayed in every aspect in game.

Thankfully they woke up the last 30 minutes of the game and played like a potential world cup champion.

Hope Solo definitely kept them in the game that first half. It could have easily been 3-1 at halftime.

How did it come about that I watched women's soccer and enjoyed it? What a strange turn of events.

We moved from a diamond midfield to having Holiday and Lloyd sit in front of the backline in the 2nd half. That turned the game and allowed our superior possession and conditioning to win the day. Ellis should be applauded for going to Plan B after losing the first half tactically.

Was last night good enough to return the USA to #1 when the new rankings come out next week. Or will it take winning it all and/or Germany losing in consi game?

That second goal was huge as now no one can claim we one because of a questionable penalty kick.

How much will revenge play into Sunday's game. USA had game won two times last time only to lose it. Do US women feel they have a job that needs finishing.

I watched most of the England/Japan game. Well, actually I read a book or browsed the internet most of the game and lifted my eyes upon cueing by the crowd noise.

You have to feel for the British girl. Stoppage time and you try to clear the ball and hit it into your own goal for the winner.

She was inconsolable after the game. It was heart breaking to watch and deadened the victory for Japan.

For much of it I was doing something else and had the game on while I did, but still, when we scored I actually cheered. It's strange. And I really wanted to play England, I can't believe that poor girl lost the game with 20 seconds left in regulation.

No more English way to lose a game than a 20 yard own goal in the 3rd minute of stoppage time.
