I think we (CUSA) can be better than that.

You'd have to wonder where we'd be if Watt's & Co hadn't killed it w/ what we would've had coming back. Would we have been above/around Marshall??? Somewhere WKU/LAT range would be my guess though

I agree though I think the order of teams seems legit.

These rankings are garbage. Everyone except Marshall is in the lower half of all of college football. Problem is almost the entire conference plays difficult non conf schedules so there won't be a lot of wins. Frustrating there is this little respect for the league after last season.

We'll be in the middle of the pack this year, but I don't blame anyone for having us that low. Going to have to prove ourselves all over again just like we have always had to do.

We need to have at least half the conference in the top 100 and 4 in the top 75 at the end of the year. Oh, and no more than 2 outside the top 115.

Absolutely.

8 teams play 2 (or more) P5 teams on the road this season. The winning % for G5 schools @ P5 teams is very low. Basically, no games have been played yet but over half the conference is at best .500% OOC.

I think Rice and UTEP are too low.

No respect is earn with the pollsters by beating ball state or eastern michigan and couple fcs schools. Scheduling winnable P5 games is essential to being ranked and being considered at the end of the year. There are very winnable P5 games out there, even on the road. Tech has beat Ole Miss, Illinois (Champaign) and Virginia on the road just in the last few years. Teams like NC State, Kansas, Kentucky, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and many more are very winnable road games.

Looks like Bill Connelly was the only one to do research on Tech.

UTSA won't be that bad. We signed key JUCOs to fill some gaps.

Realistically we're looking at 3-5 wins.

That got me thinking. I threw out Athlons, Lindys, and Scout.com to see what the average of ESPN, S&P, and FEI would be....

It's a little better (and a different order):

43. Marshall
54. Western Kentucky
58. La Tech
88. MTSU
95. Rice
97. FIU
104. FAU
107. ODU
108. UTEP
111. USM
115. North Texas
117. Charlotte
122. UTSA

I have noticed that Athlons and Lindys cater to their subscribers (P5 fans buy their magazines because there is more P5 fans than G5 fans) and I bet Scout does too (teams with good Scout sites). I prefer the unbiased opinions. ESPN is probably biased to subscribers but they have a little more pressure to get it right because of credibility issues, imo.

CFN shouldn't have been included anyway. They are and have always been pure garbage. 07-coffee3
