The fourth-best time ever at the Belmont, still 2.6 seconds behind record holder Secretariat who won the 1973 Belmont by a ridiculous 31.5 lengths.

RE: OT - American Pharaoh wins Triple Crown
Just amazing the reaction- I was eating out tonight and the place went crazy by the end of the race....

What was funny I saw some young kids and thought- they're the same age I was in 1978 when the last time we had a triple crown winner...

What will be interesting is will we have a 3 in 6 period like we did in the 70's the last time there was a triple crown drought like this.

Maybe he knows that he now gets to spend the rest of his life providing stud service. That would make me happy.

Nice horse.
Yep. I've seen 4 Triple Crown winners in my life now. Although I still think the first was the best, and Penny Chenery, the owner of Secretariat back in the day, was there watching.

What spelling mistake. That's how Pharaoh is spelled. Didn't you study history?

RE: OT - American Pharaoh wins Triple Crown
Considering the owner is Egyptian, I'm guessing he knows how to spell Pharaoh just fine. There's strange rules and customs when it comes to naming horses. "Cide" isn't how you spell "side" either, yet we had a horse named Funny Cide.

Unlike you, I missed that. My brain was transposing the letters in my head. So I never noticed.
