RE: GE looking at options for Connecticut
I-85 and I-35 from Oklahoma south are going to be two of the foundational economic backbones of the future US economy.

I'd be interested to see economic production as laid out in interstate corridors. I bet I-5, despite being in CA, does really well too with all that agriculture coming out of the valley plus Silicon Valley plus Seattle plus the port of Long Beach.

I-10 and I-40 probably do really well too, but as they go west they cross some seriously desolate areas.

Yep. There are over 10,000 GE employees in Cincinnati already. The city, county and company have a very good relationship. Might as well move the HQ here. Would be an awesome get this city.

I Cincinnati is the obvious solution as well. What I don't under stand is how the WWE and ESPN were are to get tax breaks in Connecticut but GE isn't.

This could possibly have implications for Charlotte. Electrolux has their NA HQ in Charlotte and employs about 1000 employees. They were planning a massive expansion in Charlotte, but since agreeing to purchase the GE appliance division, that has been put on hold.

I hope they aren't planning to move out of CLT because they employ a lot of workers here.

Yeah , We have 7000 here worried too ! Not sure on the HQ side but I think Electrolux will operate Appliance park as an Subsidiary of Electrolux and just keep building the GE appliances there and the Other Electrolux plants will build Electrolux Appliances. Hope it's not like the Whirlpool/Maytag , Merger/ Buyout, where Whirlpool Shutdown the Maytag Plants and built them on Whirlpool assembly lines.

Have to imagine the halting of the expansion in Charlotte is for one of two reasons:

1. They're planning to move the operations to Louisville to be with the larger GE unit.

2. Their expansion plans were insufficient for moving workers from Louisville here and need to be changed to accommodate it.

Have to imagine one of our cities is going to get hit by this, but nobody knows which one at the moment.

Appliance Park is Huge and actually has a lot of unused land and the recent loss of Building 6 is not settled yet. Say lightning caused it. Bad Thunder storm hit Louisville April 3rd predawn Hours.
