They are not going to rescind the resolution. This much to do about nothing.

Yep, but we don't need the negative attention to slow momentum. Let's not make this non-story a story. They should take care of this at the next meeting Tuesday...

It seems like there's been a concentrated effort to take the wind out of our sails since the 1st. This, the suggestion that we won't play until 2017, the refusal to commit to a long term deal for Coach Clark. I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever play a down of NCAA sanctioned football while Watts is president.

There's also Willie Bell's "no help from us" on a OCS.

Guys, there are going to be one or two setbacks in this journey back to playing football again. What don't break you makes you stronger!

And that's fine. He has to worry about finding 75 mil to fund the 2021 World Games.

Speaking strictly for myself, I kinda wish people would forget about the OCS for right now and worry about getting a Bill Clark coached team on the field for 2016. Then we can worry about the OCS. Right now we have to worry about Watts sandbagging us and the city giving ammo to our detractors.

I think this type of thinking is the reason we never receive facility upgrades in the first place. I understand where you are coming from, but the whole prove it on the field and it will come hasn't worked out so well. You have to invest up front. I think we have to have an OCS to have sustained success. Sure we might have a good season every now and then (history shows what, 2 in 23 years?), but to win consistently you have to be able to recruit. And to me, recruiting is nothing more than showing kids you are going to invest in them. The easiest way to show to that is by investing in facilities.

If the shutdown had never occurred, then the OCS would and should be top priority. But the shutdown has set us back at least a few years. With our own administration actively working against football, I think we need to secure the basics first.

Wrong. OCS is part of securing the basics.

Rest assured, we won't.

Tiber is right. Everyone would love an OCS. However their is no source of funding for now. The SOM cannot be expected to foot the bill in addition to their fifteen million. Other Donations and other future additional revenue is already pledged by us to other facilities, etc.
