How some ASN broadcasts compare
CBSSN and Fox regionals are not listed here http://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-...v-ratings/

From UAB's CSS report:
Alabama A&M at UAB 408,300
FIU at UAB 268,600
UNT at UAB 213,800
UAB at FAU 314,500
LA Tech at UAB 456,000
Marshall at UAB 255,000 (limited availability. 200,000 from Birmingham market alone)
UAB at USM 397,000

C-USA on FS1:
463K W. Kentucky/Marshall
277K UTEP/Rice
75K North Texas/UTEP
137K FAU/Marshall
127K Mid. Tenn./Old Dominion
119K Louisville/FIU (until 7 PM) lightning delay
252K Pittsburgh/FIU (pre-delay)
425K Arizona/UTSA
447K Texas Tech/UTEP

All games on FS2:
86K Utah/Oregon St.
239K Texas/Kansas (start)
8K Louisville/FIU (full game)
34K Pittsburgh/FIU (post-delay)

Those ASN numbers also match or exceed most of the highest rated games on ESPNEWS. Appear to be mid-pack against ESPNU broadcasts. They are obviously dwarfed by ESPN/2 numbers.

I think it shows that UAB usually draws well on TV. Guess you guys have a lot of fringe/casual fans that watch your game when its on TV.

That WKU Marshall game sure was something. I am surprised it was the highest rated though.

I'm not. Black Friday game. Captive audience and Marshall was going for undefeated regular season before C-USA title game. Still had a chance at the G5 slot if Boise St. stumbled.

Birmingham loves college football. If a game has local interest people will watch at least some of the game

IMO the ASN broadcasts were better quality than FS1, CBSSN and NBC sports

Agreed, and in basketball, too. Liked the pregame discussion by Mark Adams, setting up why the game was important or intriguing. Took little effort, but felt ASN was really trying to promote the games, vice filling time slots.
