I have a friend here that is a professional comedian and makes good money writing for and posing as callers to the Rush shows. Says most callers are on the payroll

Actually there are a number of people who pass as white (some unknowingly). The past president of the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Gregory Williams, did not realize he was bi-racial until he was 10. He wrote about his life experience in his auto-biography, "Life on the Color Line: The True Story of a White Boy Who Discovered He Was Black".

Apparently he was raised by his white mother until he was 10. His mother apparently abandoned him and he was taken in by his very black father who he had never met before.

I am pretty sure I gave some solid rep points to a poster on here for an epic rant as a transracial black woman.

I can't remember who the funny SOB was though.

There was a Law and Order episode where there was White guy, who was 1/2 black, looked white, raised by black family..............never told anyone etc., hid from his Manhattan wife and climbed the corporate ladder.



Stephen Mendillo guests as a businessman carrying a major secret: though he appears to be Caucasian on the outside, he is actually African-American. When his wife is found murdered, he becomes the primary suspect, especially when their black child is found to have been adopted by another couple.

His ex-wife, well-played by Deborah Rush, claims to have no knowledge of her ex's ethnicity but it is later revealed that she is not as ignorant as she appears to be.

Besides featuring the trademark "Law and Order" surprise, this installment explores how some individuals had to hide their identity in order to "blend" into the-then-perceived "mainstream" society as well as makes a commentary on the internal prejudices that makes a bigot.

I can relate. Personality wise, I'm a white guy trapped in a black man's body.

I'm black from the waist down

My old college roommate, who was bi-racial, used to joke he unfortunely inherited the genes from his mother's side of the family--- from the waist down.

God conservative humor is the wooooooooorst. I can forgive Rush for a lot of things, but how he butchers humor is unforgivable.

It has always been kind of common. Actually, I won't say always, probably since the early 1900s.

Not passing as white, but GK Butterfield could very well do it if he wanted.



It certainly has its advantages if you can do it.

LSU08, Heartofdixie and UCF08 are black.

Im coming out as a reptile. This is based upon my wife's recommendation.

My ancestors were from Sweden and Germany, but I've always identified as a Puerto Rican. Someday I'll be courageous, too.

Actually in Puerto Rico the majority of the population self-identifies as white. Throughout history scores of Europeans immigrated there (esp those from Spain,Germany, The Netherlands and England). Famous examples are white looking Puerto Ricans like Ricky Mattin , Jose Feliciano and Benecio Del Toro.

Interestingly, Puerto Rico went through a "whitening" process in the 19th century (blanqueamiento). By royal decree people of mixed ancestry were identified as white-- even people of African and Taino (the native Puerto Rican) blood. This is the complete opposite of the "one drop rule" that we saw develop on the U.S.

Next up....A black man comes out of the closet as white.
