Birmingham and TV contract
I have to believe that keeping Birmingham in C-USA will help our television negotiations. Great market. Great basketball. Great football story.

We're about to see if the "market strategy" was the smart strategy. We are certainly represented in some excellent markets.

I think the conference is on the rise. Football results last season were good enough for 2nd in the G5. That cannot be an anomaly if we are to prosper.
Basketball is where we need to make up a lot of ground.
Football needs a yearly "Marshall".

Just win, baby.

RE: Birmingham and TV contract
The local ASN affiliate in Birmingham aired at least one C-USA game every week and has picked up the ASN broadcasts of lacrosse, minor league baseball, and C-USA basketball games (basically anything carried by ASN). WABM 68 is a big asset for UAB. Several other C-USA teams couldn't even get ASN broadcasts picked up in their local market.

I know it's inflated because of the football demise speculation & Marshall's ranking but it really impresses me that 200,000 people tuned in locally to watch UAB and Marshall.

ASN was great for us. I saw more football games than ever league wide. I hope they increase basketball coverage.

We need to capitalize on the UAB story. WE need Game day for our first game. (even though I cant stand those bastards)
