ESPN has really gotten smart about these deals. Sign up for the whole package, then pick and choose what you sell off. Considering the low $$$ involved, probably works just as well for the conf as well. They only have to do one deal.

I see this as be advantageous to recruiting.

One of the big problems for conferences like the MAC is getting out of the Saturday clutter where most games are on television.

Prospects being recruited want to be able to watch the schools recruiting them on television.

Every player wants to be on television so he can be seen by family and friends...

It remains to be seen whether it really helps recruiting in any significant way. I'm sure the recruits like it....

Agree and it also creates a little more balance, getting more webcasted games moved over to cable/DBS (i.e., DirecTV, Dish).

Next year isn't it supposed to be 12 FB games and 12 men's bball games?

Ahhhh, good point on the "up to". Basically if it's EMU vs Kent during a cheerleading tournament, they will forgo that MAC game.

They did say definitively 6 games this year (probably because schedules are laid out). I would assume the following years probably 8-10.

With the last ESPN/MAC contract that "up to" language was also used. ESPN always used their maximum allowed units.

While the "up to" wording is there I would expect that CBSSN will show the full 12/12 events.

Agree

Agree to a point, likely give out a decent game or 2 as an sweetener to paying customer.
