RE: Interesting free agent evaluation
It's honestly not a horrible equation. But, it doesn't translate well when you include players. Marc Gasol is significantly more valuable than Brook Lopez or Greg Monroe. They have him as the 4th center on their list. He was all-NBA.

Yeah, it's a decent guide but that's about it. The only thing Lopez or Monroe have over Gasol is age.

Interesting. With the NBA going spread-&-shoot, having a legit rim protector and elite rebounder is key, especially if that player is young. That's why Jordan will get a HUGE contract despite his lack of offense.

Also, I think Gasol is better than Lopez, but their stats are generally the same and Lopez is 3 years younger. I can see that MAYBE giving him an edge, but gimme Marc any day!

How do we get Danny Green? That would be massive.

Brook Lopez was Top 5 in scoring, a top 20 rebounding, and Top 10 in blocks for all centers this season. The hype is well warranted...but Marc was better in each category, so Idk why he's ranked lower than Lopez. Age is the only thing I can think of, but it's not THAT much of a difference...

A) Marc leaves
B) "Dump" Jeff or Lee
C) Danny wants to play for memphis so badly that he plays for super cheap (lol)

Hype is not that warranted if you watched him play most of this season. Heck they were even trying to trade him at the deadline, but no team wanted to give Brooklyn what they wanted because again if you watched him play most of the year he wasn't that great.

Lopez is a Top 10 center, MAYBE even Top 5. That's the only point I am trying to make... that's good enough to make him a top FA priority once you move past Marc and LA.

I agree, just don't think he is worth the hype.

Well, this artcile's hype...no. But any player who is Top 5-10 at his position deserves some hype. Just not as much as Marc in this case LOL
