I haven't brought this up before, but I knew Mark well from our time at the University of Tennessee together.

I got to know Mark through FCA at UT, and I can tell you that I believe you guys are really going to like him (if you haven't made that judgment already). He is an outstanding human being, no nonsense and is likely the perfect person to help you guys emerge from this as far as athletic leadership goes.

He's just being forced to tow the company line. He's in an impossible situation: If he goes with the fan base by speaking up for football to his bosses, he loses his job. If he praises Watts again publicly the fan base is likely to burn him at the stake.

I think you could tell at the press conference through his demeanor he was very excited to get football back. Stark contrast between he and low Wattage. He'll have to deal with a delicate situation for sure, but I believe he can handle it. Good luck!
