Nice. That's a very winnable game even on the road. Toss in a home date and it's a homerun.

Rumors floating around WKU and UofL are signing a 2 game series in football, but I bet our "home" game will be somewhere neutral....

This is the first positive to come from our athletics program in quite some time.

I cant wait for the first post on rivals that the previous AD started these talks.

Your admin. made a mistake. It's common knowledge that the Cabal always wants the first game so that they can buyout the second. You have to get them to agree to play you at your place first, that way they can't finagle their way out of the game.

Good series for USM, hope y'all have a good buyout on the return game.

Keep at it. I lost count of how many road games U Miss. & Miss. State played at other CUSA schools before State agreed to come.

Houchens doesn't have nearly enough seats for just the Western fans that would want to be at that game, why would they agree to play a few hours down the road in a stadium that they'd be lucky to be given 2k seats in?

I wouldn't want to attempt to host UTK in Murfreesboro, not without at least 10,000 more seats in our stadium and Floyd is already nearly 10,000 seats bigger than Houchens.

Its UK football, they do not have that many fans that would come to begin with....In fact when we played in Nashville, if we did not outdraw them we came close the 2 times we played them at LP Field....I am sure we could get temporary seating as well as the berm to make the stadium seat 30k easily if we had too...

Living down the road, their home crowds are a joke in their own stadium unless they play Bama, LSU or a big time SEC team where other fans in the area come for the opposing team....

Can't imagine most P5 schools, especially in-state ones that will want a lot of tickets, will be willing to play in a stadium as small as the one you guys have.

It's an issue that Charlotte will face as well. We fortunately have an NFL stadium we can probably use once per year, but I think we're going to have a hard time getting anything other than a Vandy/Wake/Duke type program to ever play us on campus, even if we expand, unless we are going to 30,000+ seats (which I think would probably be a mistake).

Wonder what Indiana's excuse is then? They are mediocre just like UK in a P5 conference, the Big 10...

Vandy is closer than uk by a couple hours and Western plays Vandy in Bowling Green in 2016

I see both sides to it and for Western it makes more sense to play uk in Nashville...more money with a low end ticket price of $45...

the 45k that showed up for the last game made Western more money than if it was played at home...

If this game was a home game I expect season tickets would double maybe even sellout. But with it being in the season ticket package (it wasn't) there is no way Western could increased it $45 for this one game without bit*ching

I wouldn't answer calls from Marshall either honestly. WV is a terrible state for FBS recruiting and Marshall generally has a good team. Why bother scheduling an away game at Marshall if you stand a fair chance of losing and don't get any good recruiting benefit from it?

Let's just say that some times the best way to get games scheduled is to put a private detective eyeing some higher-ups of whichever team you want to play. Then play hardball. Just kidding, but it would probably work.
