My older brother is a very successful well published interventional cardiologist

My younger brother finished number 1 in his law class and is a successful corporate attorney

I've been in healthcare for nearly 20 years, first clinical and now corporate.....and do juuuust fine.

I say all of that to say I'll be gosh damned if some mother ******* leftist socialist commie greedy elitist bastard is going to get any of that success. I live and my parents and grandparents lived the American Dream and did the right things to help us make it to where we are.

We've had death, injury, and illness in our family just like the next family.

Actually no, I wasn't. I had chronic asthma (nearly died a couple of times) and my mother had serious mental health issues which caused her to be institutionalized for most of my first 5 years. Dad worked nights and I stayed with my grandmother or a couple from church until things finally got relatively "normal". The financial toll alone left us basically playing catch up until I finally got out on my own. IMO, my father is a saint after all the hell he's been through with the 2 of us. He's still with my mom to this day (~40 yrs married).

Prior to that both of my parents were dirt poor growing up. For example, my father literally cut out cardboard to replace worn out soles in his shoes when he was growing up. Neither side of my family were land owners (unless you count my grandfather's farm which was scammed out from under my grandmother). Both sides lost their fathers at a young age.

Yeah, lucky, ******* breaks.
