RE: Women's Bball coach?
The bid for being the search committee was due at 2pm on Friday May 29th.

I expect that athletics has already picked who they are going to use from that bid but it wont be announced and made official for a few days.

RE: Women's Bball coach?
seems odd they put the bid out for that long...these search committee's have their processes, they don't need a month to make a bid for the search.

The bid was out for 17 days which was 12 business days with the holiday.

Dear Loyal WBB Supporters,
I regret to inform you that we are indefinitely postponing the women’s basketball banquet from this spring due to our head coach transition. I thought we could still host this banquet and perhaps use it for a new head coach announcement party, but our campus administrative processes have delayed the selection and announcement of a new head coach until July 1st or later.

We have submitted the appropriate paperwork to refund you the amount you paid for the banquet. Please allow for a few weeks to receive this refund.

We are working diligently to find the right fit for the NIU women’s basketball program, past, present and future. Keep informed on our progress by visiting http://www.niuhuskies.com. And we will let you know when there are other similar opportunities to support our program.

I truly appreciate your support of NIU Women’s Basketball and NIU Athletics.

Debra Boughton
Senior Associate Athletics Director

I think they will go with an interim for this season. Looks like SF is not happy with the candidates at this time.

This is just silly! It's the women's bball coach at NIU. Your telling me they can't find a good fit? I cannot believe Frazier didn't have a short list of coaches when he arrived. Maybe, no one wants the job. Bring Kathi back.

If she applied E.C. Hill seems like the right choice!

the frustrating part is that Ownes, bennet and Judson were considered by all to be good solid choices that made sense. Patton was the only bad choice. And yet they failed. its a frustrating situation. So, if SF ian't ready to pull the trigger then it is because he has good reasons

E.C. did not do anything notable either in recruiting or strategy when she was an assistant under Owens. Many observers believe Carol failed because her staff was weak. This search is starting to drag on too long.

There are no coaches listed on the WBB website, and they have updated the roster to include the freshmen. One recruit is not listed, 6'3" center Annalese Lamke.

And Arizona is in bad shape, so the pedigree isn't looking good at all there.

don't forget, owens did not get fired she quit to go back to ND as a comfortable high paid asst. I don't think she liked being a HC. If SF does not get who he wants, I think he will go with an interim fore the season.

I think going with a year long interim is suicide. I don't know how they could do any meaningful recruiting.

+1. They need to get a coach ASAP. Not only for recruiting and building her/his staff, but it's also not fair to the women to drag it out. Team chemistry and bonding with the coach are so important. I sure hope this is not a wasted year - for the women's sake.
