I have no idea why I did it, but I watched the press conference held by the UAB President. Unbelievably brutal. Looked and sounded absolutely clueless.

At 3:59 yesterday I was absolutely giddy. Watts approached the podium at 4:00 and took a huge, steaming dump on my excitement. The press conference could not have been worse.

UAB Football may be like SMU's after returning from the "Death Penalty" in mid-'80s - took them couple decades to become competitive-relevant again.

Feel bad for Blazer fans, players, coaches. What a horrible example of gross administrative incompetence.

I feel really bad for all the players and staff that moved on to other programs. What a slap in the face.

After the death penalty we instituted massive academic restrictions that were finally lifted two years ago

OR, they could offer the top 30 recruits immediate playing time and have an all star squad like Calipari at Kentucky.

I had the misfortune recently to sit on an airplane next to a UAB faculty member. What a smug arrogant condescending witch. I am used to smug from Harvard, Michigan and so forth, but UAB, really?
