Coddling this terribly sick and in pain man instead of helping him face his illness with courage is criminal. Akin to giving heroin to a heroin addict to "help" them.

Bruce, I feel for your pain, but I can't enable your acting out to cover it up--that's even more harmful to you. Get help, Bruce. Real help, man. Get away from the libs who are destroying your life. You're still a valid person, but trying to cover over your pain is not going to make you or those you care about happier, it will continue to get worse. Stop the madness Bruce, you're bottoming out here, man. Get some real, intense help, before you end up putting yourself six feet under like so many others who didn't have to, man.

sounds like he's been trapped for 4 decades. Don't think this is an attention grab. These people have always been around, there is just a bigger platform for them now.

Bruce Jenner won an Olympic medal in 1976. Outside of that, why does anyone care what he/she does?

Most probably wouldn't if not for his obvious crying out for help with his need for massive publicity and begging for validation for his disordered behavior.

That picture of Bruce Jenner on the cover of Vanity Fair is disturbing on many levels. I feel pity for him. After his latest 15 minutes is over, he'll need another fix. I'd say drug rehab is not far off the horizon for him. This is a man who needs a lot of help, and he's only being hurt by his enablers.

I also feel sorry for him. I hope he doesn't hurt himself. Doesn't seem like a bad guy, but needs to work out his mental issues before it is too late (if it isn't already).

But I don't understand why this would be difficult to explain to your children. First, if they're too young it doesn't need explained and it they're older, just talk to them like adults with actual facts. They'll have little trouble understanding it if you're actually honest with them.

I agree. If my child had this, however, I would recognize that he is sick. It is a sickness, period. Whether the gender idenity causes the sickness or the sickness causes the gender idenity is unknown and will never be known if we don't recognize it is a sickness to begin with. It could be a syndrome with no cure. It could be a mental sickness. It could even be a curable or treatable physical sickness (adrenal system abnormality for instance). I do believe the guy thinks he is a woman somehow, but we don't know why.
