I live here and Phoenix and saw that Chris Gatling was arrested again, I believe that was his second arrest here in Arizona. I believe he is being charged with fraud.

Either the fitness owner is the dumbest person alive or she was aware that those transactions weren't legit. No business owner would run credit card numbers that often and hand over cash. I don't feel bad for her.... The unfortunate victims who the cards belong to I feel for, but hopefully all of them flagged the transaction once they noticed it.

I was thinking the same thing. No business owner is going to run a $100K on different credit cards, giving the money to one guy and not know that things were not on the up and up. Hopefully she was the only victim of this POS.

I remember when fans were calling for his number to be retired.

Maybe that steel plate in his head affected his thinking.

Sad to see a person who had it all come to this. (Believe it or not, he's one of the friendliest people you could ever talk to.) Hope he gets his head right soon.

Somehow mastermind and Chris Gatling in the same sentence doesn't sound right?????

He always struck me as a person who had an over-whelming sense of self-entitlement. As a student - he drove around campus in his BMW - that his parents gave him - and let everyone know he drove a BMW. I'll never forget being in the old Field House as a student playing basketball and watching the team load up on a bus for a road game the following day. Entire team is on the bus - time ticking away - then Head Coach Tom Young getting off the bus and walking back into the Field House - through the lobby and into the "gym". Then out comes Gatling from team room. Back pack on and walking at a very slow and deliberate pace - no hurry in any way. You could see the pain in Young's face and the lack of care in Gatling's. I knew all I needed to know about Gatling and I knew Tom Young was not long for being a head coach any longer. Gatling just always thought he was better than everyone around him. As someone said before - he'd be nice and talk to people but it was as if you were lucky he was speaking to you. He carved out a career and had many opportunities. In the end, a sad story and such a waste of opportunity.

Yesterday, Gatling was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for this arrest;

You won't see any mention, stories, pictures, etc. of Gatling around the atheletic dept, practice facility, or anywhere at ODU. It's like he never existed here. Unfortunately he turned out to be bad news.

Sad, and not surprising. A little too entitled for my tastes.
