The month of June.
Well June is coming upon us and there are issues that will be resolved.

1. UAB - Is football really dead?
a. If no UAB football - Will CUSA offer a school to be #14
b. Which conference will UAB chose for 2016-2017 if no football.

2. Sunbelt expansion?

3. Atlantic Sun expansion?

Anything else that normally needs to be resolve before July 1st?

At least not anyone not named NMSU, but odds say no one by July 1.

The month of June.
If NMSU moves it sets off another chain reaction with the WAC. Grand Canyon will not complete its transition until July 2017.

UAB will be kicked out of the Conference in June.
Nobody wants to touch UAB for several years because the BoTs at UAT might kill off the rest of the sports.
UAB will be in limbo just like New Jersey Tech.
A-Sun will invite some Gulf Caost Conference schools who will put their football into the Big South.
Sun Belt would try and get Coastal Carolina and Eastern Kentucky in as all sports.

That would be a P5 conference by it self and probably better than the ACC in football.

ASUN expansion, they should brace for Kennesaw State to be offered by SOCON/Big South soon.... I would start talking to UNC Greenville or Ashville who do not play football and get them in the ASUN

Columbus State University from DII would be ideal (not sure if CSU has the $1million fee though)

Well #1 issue is resolved.
1. UAB - Is football really dead? No

And with that, that stops any SB schools for #14, including NMSU. So, with the SB continued ignorance on having NMSU for all sports, the WAC is more stable and perhaps will lure another team or two into the conference.

2. Sunbelt expansion? ????

3. Atlantic Sun expansion? ????

I really wouldn't call it ignorance at all on the Sun Belt with NMSU.

Look at the map of the current Sun Belt
http://masseyratings.com/map.php?s=267615&t=14238

NMSU wouldn't fit at all quite frankly. Even for the western schools currently- it's a long hike out to NMSU. Definitely not ignorance at all.

The problem there is with NMSU in all sports, they can split into divisions as they proposed. Ark. St. I'm sure won't have an issue being is a west division, leaving UALR to stay in the east division.
I guess it isn't ignorance as much as the recent FCS call ups in the east still think they are in a FCS conference. It not like any other conference has an outlier.
They sure put up with Denver for all sports for quite a while.
The CUSA eastern schools travel to El Paso and there isn't any issue about that from the eastern schools.

RE: The month of June.
If they wanted to split in basketball they could do so by adding another east school. you have UTA/Texas St/UALR/Arkansas St/ULM/and ULL in the west, USA/Troy, Ga St/ Sa Southern/ App St/ and then 6th eastern school.

You bring up Denver. 5 of the 11 in the Belt weren't in there when Denver was in there.

It's a good 630 miles from Texas St even to NMSU. Texas St is closer to Mobile than they are NMSU.

RE: The month of June.
With UAB sticking around, may not see much at all this month.

Only thing may be the Atlantic Sun, and given it's June 1, too late for any D1 callups. So may be a very quiet month overall.
