Exclamation The Value of Football
Most of us here already know and believe this, but nice to hear from outside as well. If UAB drops football, marginally bad for teams like Rice. OTOH if they re-instate, it helps to further reaffirm the recent commitments by Leebron, Tudor, JK etc... that bringing Rice back to where it was (P5 level) is the right thing to do for the school, and to put the school's money behind.

Our situation is different than UAB in that we have more sunk in facilities (Legion Field was run down), longer tradition and we are not part of a university system that wants to keep up down (Birmingham subordinate to Tuscaloosa.
