Agressive-bordering-on-insanity baserunning is paying off.

Bunt popped up super high, but neither catcher nor pitcher get to it as it followed Lewis along the baseline. Ball gets away and runner scores

T5:

4-3 groundout.

Infield single into the SS hole; Gray made a great stop, but had no hope of making a play.

Strikeout!

Announcers talking a lot about Fox's move to first. "May be the best in the country." And shows him why: pickoff ends the inning!

2-0, Rice, heading to B5.

We have really hit a lot of balls hard, mostly for outs.

RE: Regional vs ULaLa - game thread
B5:

Chandler lines out to deepish CF.

Taylor: single drops just in front of charging right fielder.

Williamson bunting ... but low pitch bounces to the backstop, Taylor moves to 2nd. Williamson then singles to opposite field (left), Taylor to 3rd.

Gray bunts popup down 1B line. He ambles toward first as pitcher anbd catcher converge on the ball ... pitcher dives to try to catch the popup and avoid the nearby Gray at the same time ... and misses the catch. Taylor scores on pretty close play at the plate (Cajun catcher tossed the ball to Marks, now covering the plate.) Everyone's safe. 3-0, Rice!!

Marks replaced by Will Bacon.

Warren called out on pitch that might have been outside.

Stainback's scorching liner caught by "perfectly positioned" 3B.

3-0, Rice ... after 5.

ULL is getting all of the fringe calls at the plate. They wouldn't have scored without them.

T6:

First pitch 4-3 ground out.
3-2 pitch walk.
Sac bunt to 3B. Good play by Lewis to throw him out.

After a pitch that looked like an inning-ending called-strike three (called inside, check swing) ... Cajun batter rips a good pitch (low & inside) down the 3B line for an RBI double.

F-9 to short right-center ends the threat.

3-1, Rice, heading to B6.
